Back to the Sea For a Second Chance

“But within two years it became evident that the tipping point had been reached well before 2015, and the surface of the Earth would become uninhabitable for nearly all forms of life within another decade. ”

The Paris Conference of 2015 helped to focus world attention upon the problems of global warming and suggested some steps that might might be taken to lessen its impact. But within two years it became evident that the tipping point had been reached well before 2015, and the surface of the Earth would become uninhabitable for nearly all forms of life within another decade.

That realization produced the first truly effective response--worldwide programs to build undersea refuges for all threatened life forms, and reduce human and animal populations to fit into those refuges.

A combination of Gaia effects following mankind's return to the sea and terraforming technologies developed during the four generations following that devolution have now provided the first glimmer of hope that life as we knew it will be able to begin emerging from the sea again, led by humans with a far greater understanding of both our potential and our limitations as a species.

The long and difficult process of recreating what we foolishly squandered should ensure that so long as mankind remains on this Earth, we will have a true respect for the miracle of life and nature.

Unfortunately, while that message was articulated by sages from many cultures before the Devolution, it was always overcome by the cancerous power of greed.
