2015: Humans are not yet housetrained

“We spoiled the gifts of our home without trying to save it or find another. We left that to you.”

Sorry. You know...
For everything.

I'm embarrassed, writing to you; civilized, knowledgeable, peaceful, happy, wise.

My membership in time is an abhorrent way to be, can you transport me?
Your history teaches that we were troglodytes who became territorial-squabbling-troglodytes.
Trivial, pitiful and not worth learning about, huh? I agree.

We split the atom. HA! So there, we did SOMETHING worth mentioning.
True, we used it to cause misery and pain to… ourselves.

Hey, we went to The Moon!!
Yeah, OK; but that was just a ruse for 'rockets' to better deliver that bomb we invented.

We procreated, but we had 'hubris' to feel special among 7 billion slightly different copies of ourselves.

So I guess what we did with our original home, was learn how to destroy it.

We perceived ourselves differently to our ancestors, who hunted to eat.

Those who destroyed our planet were rewarded most. 'Occupations' categorized us. Those who built 'community' like 'teachers' and 'nurses' got less than 'miners', 'tycoons' and 'stock-brokers'.

'Globalization', unlike how it sounds, didn't bond us, it divided us and made us compete, on all levels, it's how we hid that which destroyed our home. We didn't challenge 'globalization' for clean food, air or water. 'Gross Domestic Product' increased with 'pollution', 'population', 'crime' and 'divorce'.

We drew 'borders' around 'nations' and permitted one to destroy another because we had 'patriotism' and a 'military'. Most 'media' distracted us, focusing us on trite and meaningless issues, like, 'Hollywood' 'celebrities'.

We had 'religion'; it caused death, suffering and guilt.
It gave solace to those who preferred to not think, experiment or learn.
'Religion' was replaced by 'money'; it caused death, suffering and guilt.
It gave solace to those who preferred to not think, experiment or learn.

'Money' defined us, those with the most, 'won'.
The lucky were born somewhere 'rich' where they renamed 'cathedrals' to 'shopping malls'.
We 'purchased' objects that showed 'prestige' to feel better about accumulating 'money' at the expense of those we were disconnected from. 'Money' kept us apart.

Spending 'money' was made efficient with the 'internet'. The 'internet' was initially a way to free ourselves from pain and suffering with learning and communication bringing us together, but 'corporations' had 'greed', they stopped us and kept us disconnected from each other and unaware.

We spoiled the gifts of our home without trying to save it or find another. We left that to you.
