Hope from the heart

“Fortunately, there is also a huge amount of good in the world. I believe in my heart that your generation is going to decide the fate of our planet.”

Dear young one,

I hope and pray that you grow up to love and care for not only the people that bless your life, but the land and Earth that you share with them as well. Technology is making leaps and bounds right now. Science and medicine have blessed the growing human population with good health, and long lives. Unfortunately, the industrialization and technology that comes with them has negatively affected the health and longevity of the land they live on. Pollution and waste have impacted the Earth’s health and we are entering a time in which we are beginning to struggle as a human race.

Recently, humans are struggling not only as individuals within their own communities but with the climate change that is occurring to the land they live on. The underlying problem is that there is evil in the world and a climate that is very unpredictable due to the destruction people have caused to its soil, air, and water. Fortunately, there is also a huge amount of good in the world. I believe in my heart that your generation is going to decide the fate of our planet. My generation is already beginning a movement towards being more aware of the ecological print we leave on the Earth as individuals. We are making progress but in the scale of everything it is a tiny amount and there is still so much that is left to be done!

My advice to you is simple, be a good person with a pure heart. If you wish good intentions upon other people and the Earth, it is bound to show to others. Many people may even see the positive impact you have and adopt your kind philosophies. Just like in the past with technology and medicine, when many people are working together great things can happen! I hope by the time you read this letter many great things have already happened and the Earth is a healthier planet.

As soon as you are old enough to have read this letter I want you to find a quiet place to sit and contemplate where and how your world is moving forward. It is my sincerest hope that during your time of contemplation you see that the world has made progress towards a sustainable future and you see how you as an individual are a part of that future.

Take care!
